I'm not a fan, I don't like the attention. I've forbidden my friends and immediate family from getting me any gifts because there's nothing I want and I'm terrible at getting other people gifts and I would always feel anxiety at trying to get an appropriate one, so I just don't do it anymore. Though that doesn't stop grandparents from doing it anyway.
I'm down for having dinner with immediate family but pretty much just see it as a time to do it rather than it being "for me." I don't really keep in touch with them when there's no reason. It's not in my character to contact family just because and if I ever did it'd be like "what's wrong?"
Geez, this post makes me seem like a spiteful person who hates his family. I'm just a hermit, honest!
