Lillith ----------
"A regular check up, then? Of course." I wonder if he's having sleep trouble again. Ah, Hyun caused me so much trouble at first. He kept bringing me Pokemon that I honestly did not know what to look for.
Aegis. He says that Aegis just decided he was worth of following. I literally knew nothing about Aegislash the first time I did a check up. I'm sure I gave a really stupid look when I asked if he could come back tomorrow. I ended up learning a bit about metallurgy as the stability of the shield and sword are pretty important. I loose tap the shield with a small hammer, listening to the clangs as I go. Then I run a whetstone along the blade of the sword. I scribble down some notes and move on to the next Pokemon.
Elegy. Another one that I had to do research on. Turns out that Meloetta's voice is a very good indicator of health. After a lot of digging around I was able to get my hands on a special type of tuning fork. I thwack the tuning fork against the table letting it hum. "Match." I ask her softly. The first couple of times I did this, she was pretty against it. I think she's shy. I twist the bottom after she matches the note for a few seconds. "Consonance." After a few times though she would just give me the three notes I needed. Eventually she started having fun, one time when I asked for consonance she went five octaves up. I turn the bottom again. "Dissonance" After a few seconds I turn the bottom again, this time a small bar slides out of the bottom and I record the three numbers that I see there.
Moving on, next is. Aerie. I knew a little bit about Froslass, simply because I think they're cute. I had never worked firsthand with one though. Froslass is another ghost that's tied heavily to an object, in this case it's the kimono. I'm not completely certain on the evolution, but it's mask seems to be the actual snorunt. Hmm, she looks a tad tired, and the worry is plastered on her face. Jeez that feels weird to say. At some point I began to be able to read through the mask. I write my notes.
Aria. Looks pretty good. It's nice to check up on a Pokemon I understand. I check her fluff and her neck. I file her talons and beak ever so slightly. Tail feathers look nice. Notes done, next.
Ah, Sonata. I know Eevee's better than the back of my hand. Especially Sylveon. She is apparently very protective, but she always seemed to behave gleefully for me. I quickly glance at her paws and teeth, and then run a finger up her foreleg, across her body to her hind flank. I present my hand to her. She wraps a ribbon around my hand and gives a squeeze. Her coat is looking a little anemic though.
Opera, she always acts intimidating around me. Although I'm sure she knows it's not necessary, it seems to be routine at this point. Everything looks fine, well I guess she looks a little worried too. I catch her sneaking glances at Hyun whenever she thinks I'm not looking.
"Okay," I put everything away before continuing. "Everyone appears to be doing fine, but Aerie and Opera in particular look a little tired." I really don't need to tell him they're concerned though. He definitely knows. "Oh, and Sonata is showing early signs of anemia, so make sure she's eating."
Len ---------
An introduction, that's right. People are supposed to introduce themselves when they haven't met before. I close my parasol to give a proper obeisance. "Indeed, a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr. Page and Gibson. I am one, Lenyth Terzi, at your service. But if you would, please call me Len." After I give a proper curtsy I smile and tilt my head. I can feel a blush coming on. "Oh my, I believe I just gave a conditioned rejoinder. I apologize, I'm not overtly attuned to casual speech. The business in the student parlor, well it was certainly a sight. That is, my intent for finding a teacher is directly related to that incident." I pull out my composite sketches of the two students involved. "I...know not what influenced that particular clash." I hope he doesn't get the wrong idea of my intention. I accidentally raise my voice a little. "But if either of them are in need of impartial assistance, I thought it best to give...these to a..." My voice trails off. I don't know why I became so overzealous in my speech. "I know they're not the most detailed sketches, but I needed to ensure that major identifying features were the focal point..." Perhaps, I am sticking my nose where it does not belong.
